Candidate Participation

Our aim is to raise awareness and funding for campaigns such as your own. Our straw polls are centered around an internet broadcast where select candidates each get an equal turn to speak in order to compete for straw poll votes from those who made a donation to our sponsor PAC in exchange for a straw poll voting ticket and are listening to the broadcast. Voting takes place online and will conclude after all the candidates had their turn to speak, then the results are published. The winner(s) of the straw poll will then receive the value of the straw poll ticket revenue in campaign support. The broadcast will be available from any one of our media partners. Our first straw poll is for congressional candidates seeking their first term in office and is scheduled for September 17th from 8 - 10PM Eastern. Unfortunately the deadline has past to submit a questionnaire.

An independent review team of political veterans will be the only individuals to have access to the questionnaires who will then select seven candidates that will participate in the straw poll conference.

Candidates can choose to have their participation in the questionnaire process to be either public or private.

Summary of Actions Needed to Participate

Assure the candidate is available on September 17th from 8 - 10PM Eastern.

Notify a project team member of your interest as soon as possible.

E-mail a 100 word or less bio and an approximate 125x150 portrait to promote you campaign on our web site if you wish for your entry to be public.

E-mail the candidate questionnaire by August 20th, 10PM Eastern.

 

Payout Schedule

The Liberty Straw Poll organizers will be pleased with whatever funds are raise but have established a complete payout format to accommodate a very large scale event:

The winner will receiver the complete payout of the first $100,000 in campaign support, the first $5,000 will be a cash payout.

Each of the remaining finalist candidates will receive a $5,000 cash payout (the max allowed per a PAC) starting with the second place vote receiver getting the next $5,000 and so on for all remaining finalist candidates. The winner will receive the remainder of the payout up to a $700,000 total.

Each of the finalist candidates will receive the remainder of the payout to make their total up to $700,000 starting with the second place vote receiver getting the next block and so on for all finalist candidates.

The winner receives the next block of $200,000 and then all remaining finalists starting with the second place on receive the subsequent blocks of equal size. Repeat this step.

 

In the event of a tie, those candidates that tied will receive equal payout at each step.
